Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding win that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.
A Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season were no match against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
